1Exercise
It’s not a dirty word… If you’re not a morning person, just set aside 10 minutes after your coffee to stretch and wake up your muscles.
Reducing stress and lowering anxiety may also start by putting down your phone and use social media for interest groups and distant contacts.

Stress

Stress is triggered by something external, anxiety is worry that doesn’t disappear even when stressors are gone. .. anxiety can be motivation, when it drives you to meet a deadline. The trick is learning how to use it to your advantage and not let it rule your life.”

Here are a few tips that may help from Web Md and me!
- Add structure to your day. I know this may sound hard, but just getting up, doing stretches and even just changing out of your pajamas may help change your mindset and get a kickstart to the day. I usually put on my workout gear, have a coffee then workout.
- Eat well and stay hydrated. Getting some greens, and veggies in and steering away from ‘junk’ foods will not only help the waistline but also can help your immune system. Many veggies and fruits contain vitamins that can give you a boost, helping to protect you from infection. Arugula, Nuts, homemade cookies and don’t forget the dark chocolate!
- Sleep. This may seem basic, but it is really important. Getting enough sleep can also help ‘arm’ your immune system, but also helps with your focus, energy, and mood.
- Socialize. Whether it’s Facetime, Zoom, texting, (you might check out the privacy on zoom first)or just an old-fashioned phone call, make sure you connect with others regularly. Reach out to a friend to vent or to ask how they are doing. Our emotional health can benefit from even small interactions, so carve some connection time into your schedule.
- Show compassion. Reach out into your community to see if there is anyone who needs anything. Is it an elderly person who you could drop some cans of food for, a local restaurant that you could support by ordering food, or maybe there’s a program to drop food to the hospitals for our ‘frontline’ health workers? Anything you do can help to others will also help you
2 Journaling
It’s a new way of jotting down doodles, poems, a fun idea, a-little story about your experience…and it looks cool!
A-little black book or cool looking journal.
You can draw or stick a wine label on a page, record your favorite meal.
It’s all up to you!
3 Art
Yes everyone has some artistic talent. You do not need to be able to draw a straight line. In fact a crooked line is more interesting in some art work.
Art encompasses many areas. Designs of Doodles, sketching, watercolor, acrylic, oil paint and the list goes on with different mediums.
4.
Music
Listening, playing an instrument, following certain musicians on Spotify, studying art composition…there are many ways to enjoy music. It is universal!
Perhaps the family wants to give you a present, consider a turntable. Records are a fun hobby to collect.
